Shayna & Mark: Backyard Medford Wedding // Tufts University First Look

Where do I even begin with this amazing couple?! Shayna and Mark have such a sweet story beginning all the way back in kindergarten. They met when they were very young however as they got older they went their separate ways, as we often do with many our peers. Then one day as Shayna was catching the train in Boston, she ran into Mark. The two met up for drinks at a local restaurant and the rest was history. Shayna and Mark would go on to begin dating, buying a condo together and becoming engaged. They recently bought their first home together and are now officially husband and wife!

Shayna and Mark have had their fair share of trials and tribulations during wedding planning. With Covid-19 having a huge impact on the wedding industry these two had to change their plans drastically. I think that the way Shayna and Mark were forced to deal with the impact of the pandemic on their wedding has only made their bond stronger. They had the most amazing backyard wedding with such a loving and supportive group of people that you couldn't help but feel the love.

Shayna started her day getting ready with her bridesmaids at her own home, which was so much fun. These girls know how to have a good time! Shayna even had her own first look with her bridesmaids, which was so much fun and might be one of my new favorite things to photograph.

Shayna and Mark chose to have a first look, which was so special and gave them lots of time to capture amazing portraits. Their first look took place at the Tufts University quad, which was just gorgeous. There is a charming stone cathedral on campus and plenty of beautiful buildings and trees. It made my photographer heart very happy! Their wedding party was so much fun to work with and I think that shows a lot about Shayna and Mark. They are such a fun loving couple and have great friends and family by their side.

Shayna and Mark said their "I do's" at her mother's backyard surrounded by a small group of family and friends. Their guests had such a fun time at the reception and we even had one wedding crasher, Shayna's mother's cat! Hah! You can scroll down to see the furry lil' guy. I am honored and grateful that I was able to be a part of this beautiful wedding!

Congrats to Shayna & Mark!
