SHOP SMALL // Movement & Mindfulness, Holliston MA

Hello friends! Today's blog post is the final installment of my SHOP SMALL business blog series and I am feeling bittersweet about it! On the one hand it has been tons of work gathering details, shooting, editing, blog writing, promoting and so many more little details, but it has also been so fun and amazing to connect with other local business owners! I have had the opportunity to meet so many new people and learn about their businesses as well as who they are outside of their professional roles. I am so grateful that so many people participated in the project! This pandemic has been a huge stress on so many people and I have learned how important it is to support our local small businesses. I want to thank you all so much for tuning in week after week for my local business blogs! It has been such a great experience and I am so happy that you've followed along!

Anyways, on to today's highlight! I am talking about Desiree Reese Mottard! Desiree owns Movement & Mindfulness which she started back in 2014. Desiree was a professional ballerina for 15 years! Movement was a way of life for her and when that season of her career ended she delved into meditation, yoga and mind-body practices and eventually earned her degree in Holistic Psychology and Mindfulness Studies. After she graduated she started her business as a wellness coach to teach people the foundations and practices that made such a huge impact on her life.

Desiree's business is based out of Holliston, Massachusetts however she has brought her entire business online due to the pandemic. First off let's give her a round of applause for having to completely pivot the method in which she provides her expertise and services. Before Covid Desiree was working with lots of clients in person. She brought her program to the Framingham prison, retirement communities, pre-schools, and elementary schools. Since the pandemic, Desiree has had to totally shift her business and she realized that now more than ever, moms everywhere are struggling. They say it takes a village to raise a child and now most people's "villages" have fallen apart.

As a mom with a young baby I can personally relate to this so much and I know many families are experiencing the same struggles. Both Brendan and I have parents that are still working, some in a healthcare field, so we have had to limit visits to the outdoors and socially distanced which has made it really difficult to balance all the things that come along with owning a home, raising a baby and running a business. My time dedicated to rest and movement has definitely taken a hit and I think it has for many people.

With everything going on right now I can't imagine taking something new onto my plate, which is why I love that Desiree teaches you how to incorporate movement and being mindful into your daily routines that you already have going. I am actually participating in her 30 Day Movement & Mindfulness Program where she teaches you this concept with once a week trainings, live Q&A's, live movement classes and 30 days of support and accountability. I'm excited to see how her program will help me incorporate more self-care into my life.

If you are loving what Desiree has to offer then you can check out more content on her WEBSITE. You can also follow her along on Instagram and Facebook where she posts thoughtful and useful information all about incorporating more movement and mindfulness into the daily routines you are already doing!

If you would like to work with Desiree there are a few different options! You can:

- Join her 30 day program that I mentioned above, just click that link and it will send you right to her website

- Sign up for a free 30 minute consult by contacting Desiree to talk about working together 1:1

- Chat with Desiree about incorporating her program into a school environment. This is for any school administrator, teacher or even parent(s) that want to bring more mindfulness into their child's school!

THANK YOU all again for reading the local business blog series and showing love to each and every business owner that I have been able to partner with! May we all continue to stay safe and support each other through this journey!
